Dinner Help NEEDED!!!

So…I feel like I cook the same like 8 things for dinner all the time. I need some new yummy recipes! Any good ones out there?? My family is not really into seafood/fish. And while Parker and I love chicken, Colin is allergic to it. So, I need some with Chicken and some without. I am looking for anything- slowcooker, instant, quick and easy, long and complicated, whatever! I just need some inspiration. If I have to eat chicken, potatos and green beans or pork roast, rice and green beans once more this month I will boycott. Also, since green beans, carrots and corn are the only three veggies Parker will eat (and one isn’teven a veggie) it would be great if I could get some veggie ideas for how to hide them or something. *sigh* It seems like with the holidays we got lazy and ate out a lot and snacked and now I want to make sure we are all eating healthy, well rounded meals. Maybe if I get enough recipes I will publish it as a book and hand it out…one of my mom’s favorite cookbooks is the one she bought from my dad’s old high school with all the families contibuting!

A Pickled Pregnancy Brain

Ok, so I thought 14 1/2 weeks was a little early to start with the pregnancy brain syndrome but I guess not..maybe the older you get the sooner it starts. I swear it was until like month 7 with Parker that I started! But, yesterday I returned books to the library with my mail in it! I had just gotten it from the mailbox and hopped in the van to return the books, didn’t realize I had shoved the mail in there. So, like an hour later, I am frantically searching for the mail (of course there were two important things in it!) when the Wake County Public Library calls to inform me they have found my mail in the book drop! Ugh. Then this morning I managed to burn Parker’s toast which is kinda hard to do in a toaster oven with a sensor and setting thingy…now I am getting the stink eye. *sigh*

To all the currently preggos…are you dealing with this too? To all those who have recently given birth- did this happen to you? Does it get worse?? *gulp* I hope not! I have the mind of Christ….

2009 is gonna be a big year

Well, 2009 rang in last night. Can you believe it?? 2009??? Wow! This is going to be a great year for the Jump family. We have some exciting things planned and other things that will pop up and bless us in great ways. Pretty soon we find out what our little one is. You know, there is something in the water. Seriously people, we are taking over the world one womb at a time! Not counting recent births and just counting currently pregnant women that I personally know, the count is 20!! Wow! That’s alot of gestating!

Speaking of babies, we are working on girl names, our boy name is in pretty much written in stone and has been since Parker was born (Cooper Elisha), but the girl name has proved troublesome. When we lost our little girl we had already picked out her name, Aubrey and I was toying with the idea of using Aubrey as a middle name but I am just not sure. So far Colin is all for Reagan Noel and I am hung up on Ella Elizabeth. I guess there’s no use disagreeing about it until we know what we are having.

We had another sonogram the other day and everything looks awesome. Our little one is growing by leaps and bounds and we are thrilled to have so many good pictures every few weeks! I am officially in my second trimester now, they moved my due date up to July 1st! Works for me! That means I am 3 days closer to holding my little one!

I know this post is really rambling….but since I haven’t written anything in a long time, I thought it was better than nothing. Next week we are back to our normal schedules. Parker heads back to school on Monday and I get to spend the next few weeks bonding with a little cutie named Caleb. Jen Spinks is heading back to work for a bit and I get the privilage of watching Caleb! I am so excited! It will be a nice refresher course considering it has been almost 6 years since I’ve had a baby! Can you believe Parker will be 6 in Feb?? It’s right around the corner…time to start planning that birthday party…whew!

The perfect gift for the List Lover…

So, I’m like 98% administrative. Is it any wonder than that the perfect gift for me is a list maker??? Brookstone’s has this AMAZING little device for making grocery lists. It comes pre-programmed with like 2500 items and you can add more in. You just speak the item you want and it organizes it by section of the store and prints it on a handy little roll of paper. *WOW* It’s like a dream come true! Could anything be cooler?? I have dropped a few…dozen…hints to Colin that this would make my heart melt with joy. His track record is good….so I have confidence in him! Wanna know what this amazing man got me for Valentine’s Day??? A Label maker!!!!!! I wept! It was the coolest ever! I think I have labeled a little too much and a few things that don’t need it (like Parker) but seriously, it rocks! Just don’t stand in one place for too long in my house, I may label you! Anyway, just thought I would share. Hope I’m not the only freak who loves things like this!

Today was the 1st OB appointment. And….THANK YOU JESUS IT WENT GREAT THE BABY IS STRONG AND HEALTHY WITH A STRONG HEARTBEAT AND IS DUE JULY 4TH!!!! Whew, now that I shouted all that…I just want to thank God for His word and His promises! His peace was with me during this appointment and I know this pregnancy has only one outcome: a healthy baby and mommy in July!!! I will scan in the picture later but I am too tired now, it was a busy and exciting day. And it’s Thursday, so Nertz night starts in like an hour, so I must rest. Thanks for everyones prayers and love! Keep them coming!

Well, it’s time for a new post. And what could be a better post than this! Colin and I are expecting!! We are going to have little Jump #2 around July 1st. God is so awesome! We are thrilled! We are believing for a healthy, full-term, normal pregnancy and a healthy baby born to a healthy mommy at the end of 40 weeks! We know this pregnancy is going to be a testimony to so many people including the doctors and nurses! Thanks for all those who prayed in agreement with us to get pregnant! Please keep agreeing with us during this pregnancy. God is in control and we are PUMPED!!! Now…off to pee….

Happy Birthday Leah!

So today is my best friend, Leah’s 30th birthday. So, it’s official, we have been friends since 1988. Gulp, that’s 20 YEARS! Wow! I am thrilled to still have her in my life. We have been through a lot together and apart. We have seen life, death, great sorrow, overwhelming joy, mediocrity, failure, great success, tragedy and triumph. And I know that one day, we will be members of the Red Hat Society together. Knowing Leah has been one of the biggest blessing in my life. I remember meeting her for the first time in 5th grade, we clicked instantly. No one from our school is suprised that we are still so close. We have had periods of space and times of intense closeness, but the bond is still strong and I pray it stays that way until we are called home to heaven.

So, Leah- happy birthday my friend! I am blessed to call you my friend! My prayer for you is a happy, fufilled and blessed life. I hope you had an amazing birthday and I wish I could have been there to celebrate with you! Here’s to 20 years and 90 more! I love you!I will have to find some blackmail pictures and scan them in- I know I’ve got them!

God’s timing is ALWAYS perfect

So I heard some interesting news last week from our old neighbor, Sonja. She said Franklin Academy has bought the woodlands in Flaherty Farms and is building a new high school there. Now, this means, the only way as of now into the high school will be through the subdivision’s main (and only) enterance. From where our old place is situated this means I could walk through the back yard and the neighbors yard and be at the school. Whew! Am I glad we didn’t buy that house! The whole neighborhood is up in arms. From what I understand this is a done deal and nothing will stop it. The school will be ready to open in July of 2009. Which means they are gonna be busted butt to get it built over the next 9 months. Construction, ho!! I am not sure what it will do to property values but I am sure it could be messy! God really protected us when He gave us the swift kick in the butt to buy our home! We had originally entertained the thought of buying the home we were renting from the builder. But, then the builder filed bankruptcy and things were shady. And God used Susan (the awesome) Ramsey to lead us to our home now! Thank you Thank you Thank you! At the time we were a little freaked out and overwhelmed but God saw us through and in such a pefect way! Even at closing the enemy tried to freak us out- our car battery died and we had to replace it to get back to our house and then the power was turned off early in our old place so we had no power and actually, no water too! Ugh! I am rambling I know. And truly, our testimony for the house is another blog altogether….

To sum it up God=awesome=perfect timing=peace whereas enemy=stinky=stupid=nobody likes him!

So about two weeks ago my neighbors introduced me to this awesome cardgame called Nertz (or Snertz as I apparently always call it) Now I am hooked. It’s easy, fast, fun and is a great way to sit around and gab…We all play it every chance we get but it seems like Tuesday’s at 10 am are the time! Kids are all in school, husbands are working hard to support us and we are getting to eat, socialize and play NERTZ until we are too tired to see straight. What an awesome time of fellowship and laughter and giggles not to mention WAY to much chocolate…I kinda felt guilty like I should be doing something more productive, like cleaning or volunteering at Parker’s school or praying, but, well, even stay-at-home moms need some down time and this is our time. I am so thankful Colin is so supportive of me staying home! It even works well for when the next baby comes along since we play in the neighborhood. I love our neighborhood…but that is a whole other blog…more on that later. Anyway, God is awesome and Snertz rocks! I love my life!
